Training: From Management to a Coaching Approach
Don't wait for certainty. Start experimenting (in a controlled way) with your team.
Many leaders today face the same situation: they want people to take responsibility, come up with ideas, and solve problems on their own, but at the same time, they need to keep performance, stability, and results under control.
In practice, this often leads to one of two extremes—either micromanagement or simply hoping for a good outcome.
In this workshop, we’ll explore how these two worlds can be connected using the Kata approach to coaching and improvement—that is, a structured method for achieving goals that fosters independence through coaching and small, guided steps toward improvement.
SCOPE OF TRAINING:
The workshop takes the form of an interactive simulation, during which we will demonstrate:
- What does Kata’s basic coaching cycle look like in practice?
- How to Conduct Short Coaching Conversations Focused on Progress Toward a Goal
- how to phrase questions that encourage people to think for themselves
- How to Create a Safe Environment That Encourages Creativity and Experimentation
- how to deal with obstacles and use them as opportunities for learning and improvement
- Why Small Experiments and Testing Hypotheses Are Key to Long-Term Development
- how to build a culture in which mistakes are seen as part of the learning process, not as a reason to assign blame
Together, we will learn how to replace control with trust, fear of mistakes with learning, and results with insight as we work toward our goals.
This event is intended for anyone who leads functional or project teams or is responsible for collaboration and coordination across the organization.
Come see for yourself how team dynamics change when, instead of giving answers, we start asking the right questions.
